Some of you have heard about this technique for checking the quality of a drawing, where you just mirror the image and it exaggerates certain flaws with the picture or something. Not sure how it works; maybe it's a psychological thing and it just overrides some sort of confirmation bias that makes artists think their own art doesn't suck by forcing them to see it from a fresh perspective. Anyway, I discovered this on my own one day way back when and correctly assumed that it meant I was doing something wrong. Never did get around to learning what I needed to do differently, but... well, another thing artists tell you is that if you draw enough, you'll just naturally get better even if you never actually learn any new techniques, like grinding in an RPG. Know what? It's true. Know how I know this? Stick one of my more recent pictures in front of a mirror and you'll see.
